end of summer update
so I'm horrible at updating this now that I don't have a job to get bored at . . . =) Even still, Lea Anne's latest post has inspired me to make an end of the summer update.
umm... where to start. I'm teaching both Test Prep and subbing, I'm enjoying test prep more than subbing. Tom's dad says I should go to Law School. I wish that I felt called to law school. I'm sure I'd enjoy it much more than teaching.
Tom got a play station 2, and that officially ended our hours spent playing world of warcraft. Well, that and my having to return my work computer. I think we'll resubscribe when the expantion comes out. Maybe.
With less WOW to keep me occupied, I've been reading a lot. A lot. Mostly C.S. Lewis, which I'm really enjoying because I've always wanted to read him. Tom and I are reading The Lord of the Rings series together when ever we're in the car. I'm trying to read Cold Mountain but it's slow going. I finally picked up Donald Millar's book "Blue like Jazz," which I'm really enjoying, especially the bits about Reed College. And there have been lots of books in between, of course, most notabley a few Brennon Manning books.
I'm also cooking a lot. A lot. All the time. I'll use any excuse to have people over for eating. So far, so good.
Also, Tom and I have discovered LOST, and we are watching the first season on loan from the library. It is SO good. Some of our friends say we're addicted. Okay, we are, a little.
what else is happening?. . . I'm going to California later this month to help Tom's mom move... somewhere... and I might or might not go to Vegas for labor day weekend to spend some time with my dad's family.
I guess that's a pretty complete update. Sort of. I'll try to do better in the future, but I can't make any promices . . .

I do so love C.S. Lewis. He's one of my all-time favorite authors. He and Watchman Nee are my two favorite christian writers.
i've not read any watchman nee. I'll have to put it on my list =)
Hi Lissa! My sister read Blue Like Jazz, and she told me about the Reed part in it! I've found that I enjoy cooking, too. Problem is that grad students don't have time to come over for dinner parties. How sad. I guess I'll have to cook for myself, then, until school starts. Then, I'm going to live on frozen dumplings. :)
