stuff i've been up to

- reading lolita in tehran - so far I'm half-way through. It's been a really great read, and I'm learning a lot about Iran that I never knew.

- the harmony silk factory - this book left me with more questions than answers, and by the end I had the distinct feeling that Jasper's father wasn't actually who he thought he was . . . but no one else seems to think this. I'd give it a 7.

- atonement - you have to read this book. It's a 12.

- directions - the follow up to death cab's plans, directions is a bunch of shorts by a bunch of directors that interpret the songs on plans. Some of the videos are a bit dissapointing, but crooked teeth is great (imagining ben gibberd as a robot - classic) and so is your heart is an empty room

- new neighbors - no, we actually have new neighbors. they're moving in today. So far I haven't done much with them beyond offering our driveway. We really need to clean the house so we can have everyone over.

- garden - need to start mulching and planting. it's getting warmer, and i'm anxious to start on my red carrots and strawberries and stuff. need to go to Bath, this garden center in Fort Collins.

gotta get back to work - it's getting busy. New issue out Saturday, which also happens to be a habitat for humanity day. it's a gonna be busy. oh yeah, and maya angelu is coming to unc, so it will be sweet to hear her speak. later!
